Here's my dirty little secret: I think most writing advice is like teaching someone to bake the world's most perfect cake and then leaving them in their kitchen with no idea how to get people to actually taste it.
Thanks Liz. I’m finding myself caught in that conundrum now. Well, firstly the issue was publishing and tentatively putting myself out there. I started under a pseudonym. Then realised you need to connect with people and to do that they need a face or at least a name. So I got over that, put my name and pic up… and immediately stopped posting. I took some time out and have returned after a recent writing retreat. Now I’m publishing but want / need more eyeballs! (Whilst trying not to become too obsessed or concerned by the numbers…) help! It’s a bit of a minefield…

Here’s my latest piece, do you have any suggestions of how I might actually get people to read it? https://open.substack.com/pub/livingintentionallyuk/p/a-week-of-pleasing-myself?r=df5cr&utm_medium=ios
Friday Friendship Check-In
Add 3 Names: Choose 3 people you've had genuine interactions with—conversations, shared experiences, or meaningful moments.
Note the Context: Write a short note on how you know them or what meaningful interaction you’ve shared recently.
Optional Step: Reach out to at least one of them just to check in or say something kind.
I’ll do it with you.
Terrific!
Love this!
